Communications & Social Media internship - June

Geplaatst op: 24 april 2016

Summary

Help us tell the story of Rockstart and the passionate and talented entrepreneurs we help to grow their startups faster.

We are looking for an intern that is excited about social media and digital communication in general. Our communications team at Rockstart is small, which means you’ll get a chance to work on a lot of different skills: writing blog content, joining and reporting startup events and workshops, creating newsletters and social media content, working on communication strategy, managing web analytics, working closely with the communications manager and creating a clear and efficient plan of action for yourself.

Although part of your week will be consistent and allow you to really dive into and improve on specific aspects of digital communication, the rest is usually very diverse and will enable you to try out a lot of different communications channels and methods. Being a Communications intern at Rockstart requires flexibility and a diverse set of skills from your side, but comes with a lot of freedom and great learning opportunities.

For me, the best way to describe Rockstart is to tell you the first thing I was asked when I started: „What do you want to learn?“ Right from the beginning, my internship was about getting to pitch in at what I’m doing best and improving what I wanted to get better at. I learned to refer to my ideas not as an idea, but as a project – something that actually gets done. The free food was nice as well. ;-)” – Alexander Ebhart, Communications intern 2015.

Requirements

Who we are looking for
The most important thing we look for in a Communications intern is a great spirit. You need to have a real desire to learn, grow as a communicator and come along on this great adventure with us. Since we communicate in English and writing is obviously important in this job, we are looking for someone that has creative copywriting skills in English and has preferably managed a blog, Twitter account or Facebook Page before.
As we are still looking for the best ways to tell the story of Rockstart and our startups, we’re also looking for someone who’s creative, loves startups and ideally has some experience with Photoshop, spreadsheets and presentation software. If you’ve touched a camera in the past, that’s also worth a few extra points. If you’re ambitious, capable of managing your own time and comfortable working in a hectic startup environment alongside passionate entrepreneurs, this could be the internship for you. When you apply, ask yourself: What do I want to learn and improve on?
Further, to be a rockstar in the role you need to be:
Structured - we work at a blazing pace and you need to know how to prioritize
Analytical - optimize the processes and systems
Independent - you don’t need someone to always tell you what needs to be done
Entrepreneurial – be the first to make the change happen
Organised – you are the glue that holds the accelerators’ operations together
Communicate - clearly, in a timely manner and fluently in both written and verbal English
Team player – be able to work with a multi-cultural team
Flexible – pick up slack when you see it, be an all-rounder
Be an all-rounder – support ad-hoc tasks ranging from admin to events

Details
Start: Mid-June 2016
Period: 4 – 6 months
Hours per week: 40 hours
Remuneration: € 300 monthly + travel expenses + free daily lunch
