Rockstart is on a mission to build the world’s greatest startup machine. We are looking for a high-potential and ambitious student who is excited about creating a seamless, intuitive structure in a chaotic environment. You know how to work smarter, not harder (ok, you also know how to work hard, and you love it). With your analytical mind you oversee the structures behind how things are done and with your solutions you create perfect execution. You’re not afraid to voice your opinion but you’re also service-minded, always ready to lend a helping hand where needed. Oh, and you love a good curveball thrown your way.
Throughout your internship you will learn how to optimise and refine the internal processes of a fast-growing organization. You will join a young, multi-disciplinary and ambitious team, and will work in an international, dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
Main tasks
- You will help ensure the internal/backend system and processes of Rockstart run smoothly, efficiently and in a standardised fashion; in addition to constantly being on the lookout to streamline, better structure and optimize these processes. Some of the core tasks include:
- helping manage and optimize our cloud-based tools such as Podio, Trello, Streak to name a few;
- being involved in various projects and seeking for new tools to improve productivity in different business units;
- creating awesome “How to” Guides and keeping operational best practices up to date;
- supporting the employee on-boarding and off-boarding processes by performing tech induction training and managing employee access to various systems.
Rockstart loves startups. We help accelerate startups through, investment, office space, training and mentoring. Rockstart runs various initiatives that support entrepreneurs in every phase of their startup. These include:
Rockstart Accelerator: an intensive startup program that helps entrepreneurs take their companies from early traction to the global market in 6 months. It provides investment, office space, highly specialized knowledge and access to a broad network of international mentors, partners and investors.
Rockstart Answers: a snappy Q&A event between 40 entrepreneurs where 5 startups get help in answering their toughest question through live expert input. Rockstart Answers contributes to the growth of startups by activating group genius in a fun and inspiring way.
Rockstart Spaces: a network of inner city-startup hotspots where the most promising startups can find access to all startup support they need (resources, networks, funding, test-audience).
Rockstart Impact: an intensive 100-day startup program that helps entrepreneurs in developing regions become investor-ready.
Who are you?
You are currently doing a Master’s program or alternatively you are in the last stages of obtaining your Bachelor’s Degree.
You are excited about startups and are looking to gain some valuable experience on an operational level, as well as being able to soak up some entrepreneurial learnings.
You are analytical and tech savvy with attention to details.
Further, to be a rockstar in the role you need to be:
Structured - we work at a blazing pace and you need to know how to prioritize
Analytical - optimize the processes and systems
Independent - you don’t need someone to always tell you what needs to be done
Entrepreneurial – be the first to make the change happen
Organised – you are the glue that holds the accelerators’ operations together
Communicate - clearly, in a timely manner and fluently in both written and verbal English
Team player – be able to work with a multi-cultural team
Flexible – pick up slack when you see it, be an all-rounder
Be an all-rounder – support ad-hoc tasks ranging from admin to events
Start: July 2016
Period: 5 – 6 months
Amount of hours per week: 40 hours
Remuneration: € 300 monthly + travel expenses + free daily lunch
